Chemfort® Catheter Adaptor
Chemfort® Catheter Adaptor is een Closed System Transfer Device (CSTD) dat mechanisch voorkomt dat medicatie, waaronder antineoplastische en gevaarlijke medicatie, vrijkomen in damp-, aerosol- of vloeibare vorm tijdens de voorbereiding, reconstitutie, bereiding en toediening. Het minimaliseert tevens de blootstelling aan microbiële en luchtgedragen contaminanten in het medicatie- of vloeistofcircuit gedurende maximaal 7 dagen. Chemfort® CSTD is ontworpen om te voldoen aan de hoogste veiligheidsnormen om blootstelling aan medicatie voor zowel zorgprofessionals als patiënten te voorkomen.
NIOSH definieert een Closed System Transfer Device (CSTD) als “een medicatieoverdrachtsapparaat dat mechanisch voorkomt dat omgevingscontaminanten het systeem binnendringen en dat het ontsnappen van het gevaarlijke medicijn of dampconcentraties buiten het systeem verhindert".
